Hello, I’m WeaveSec.
I work in cybersecurity, and I’ve never stopped learning it.
It’s easy to think of security as firewalls, alerts and acronyms. But behind every breach is a real person, a business or a community that trusted the systems around them, and lost something when that trust was broken. That’s what drives me: the chance to stand between people and real harm.
It’s also a field that never stands still. New techniques, new tools and new threats arrive faster than any one of us can master them. I don’t see that as a burden. It’s the reason I love this work. There’s always another question to chase, another system to understand, and another lesson that makes us all a little harder to break.
Why this site exists
This is my public notebook. It’s where I turn what I’m learning into something I can share, so others working through the same problems don’t have to start from scratch. Writing it down also keeps me honest: if I can’t explain something clearly, I don’t understand it well enough yet.
Security is a community effort. Much of what I know came from people who generously shared their own notes, write-ups and hard-won lessons. This is my way of paying that forward.
What you’ll find here
My notes span the full spectrum of security, because real-world defence rarely stays in one lane. They’re organised by category:
- Offensive: penetration testing, red teaming and understanding how attacks really work
- Defensive: detection, incident response and threat hunting
- Cloud, Application & Infrastructure: securing the systems we build and run
- Governance, Risk & Compliance: the frameworks and decisions that hold it all together
Some notes are polished; others are works in progress. Both are part of the journey.
